Our little cinema has been a special sanctuary for the past eight years. This summer, the space will be renovated and expanded with a new lobby and marquee and double the number of seats! During the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, Lawrence Woolsey (Goodman) brings his newest creature feature, MANT!, to Key West, Florida. Director Dante’s ode to Hollywood schlockmeister William Castle’s gimmickry is as much tied to a love of movie theaters as it is to love of the movies themselves.

Bruno Winter (Vogler) travels the East-West German border with a depressed young man (Zischler), repairing projection equipment in rundown theaters. Despairing and introspective, Wenders’s film is essential viewing.
